According to Cryptopolitan, London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has announced it will launch an on-chain settlement system called **LSEG Digital Securities Depository**.

The system will support institutional investors in trading and settling tokenized bonds, equities, and private market assets, connecting traditional securities markets with blockchain networks. It will be multi-chain compatible and integrate with existing settlement platforms.

The first phase is expected to launch in 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

LSEG already operates a blockchain-based private equity fund platform built on Microsoft Azure.
