Sources familiar with the matter told the media that Trump could sign the executive order as early as this week, allowing 401(k) retirement plans to invest in alternative assets beyond traditional stocks and bonds. These investable asset classes cover a wide range, including digital assets, precious metals, funds focusing on corporate mergers and acquisitions, private loan projects, and infrastructure investments.
