Chilean crypto‑asset platform Orionx has initiated permanent shutdown procedures. According to the firm, forensic audits uncovered over $7 million worth of custodial assets transferred to wallets outside company control. The company has filed a report with public prosecutors and brought criminal charges against relevant former executives, while customer withdrawals are temporarily suspended. As reported by La Tercera, the asset shortfall covers BTC, ETH, XRP and Polygon assets. Orionx states it cannot guarantee 100 % recovery of customer funds at this stage.
Chile’s Financial Market Commission (CMF) also noted that Orionx’s fintech registration and licensing application was rejected last June. Orionx is not a CMF‑licensed or supervised entity, and CMF bears no responsibility for its winding‑down process or customer asset restitution. Tether exclusively led Orionx’s Series‑A funding round in June 2025; the related announcement has since been removed from Tether’s official website.
