Paul Atkins, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), stated that he hopes Congress moves the CLARITY Act forward quickly so it can be sent to President Trump for signature. Meanwhile, the SEC continues drafting regulatory rules adapted to the blockchain and cryptoasset sector. The U.S. Senate has scheduled September15 as a key procedural vote for the CLARITY Act, which requires 60 votes to advance to full consideration. Even if legislative progress remains stalled, both the SEC and CFTC intend to use their existing authority to build out a regulatory framework for crypto markets.
