Pablo Sabbatella, a member of the Security Alliance (SEAL) and founder of Web3 auditing firm opsek, warned that North Korea’s infiltration of the crypto industry is 'far more severe than external perceptions,' with as many as 15% to 20% of crypto companies having been infiltrated by North Korean operatives. Sabbatella noted that 30% to 40% of job applications received by the crypto industry come from North Korean agents. These agents find global 'fronts' to apply for jobs on behalf of them through outsourcing platforms, then remotely control the fronts’ computers to secure employment under U.S. identities. He claimed that the crypto industry’s OPSEC (Operational Security) is 'the worst among the entire computer industry,' and founders and teams are highly vulnerable to social engineering and malware attacks.
