Digital assets took another heavy blow after a turbulent week, with Ethereum falling to its lowest price in more than a year.

The world’s second-largest cryptocurrency plunged more than 10% to $1,593 on Friday, hitting the lowest level since April 2025. Bitcoin also dropped by as much as 4.9% to just above $60,438. Both cryptocurrencies later recovered some losses.

Smaller cryptocurrencies fared even worse, especially privacy coins. Amid news of potential security vulnerabilities, Zcash tumbled over 50% within 24 hours, marking its biggest single-day drop since May 2021. Meanwhile, Monero slid as much as 17% at one point.
