This will apply to vessels of all nations traveling to and from Iranian ports, including those in the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, and Iran's coastal areas. However, it will not impede the passage of vessels traveling between non-Iranian ports through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's Navy Commander responded the same day, stating that U.S. President Trump's threat to blockade the Strait of Hormuz 'after suffering a crushing defeat in the war' is 'absurd and ridiculous.'
