Andrew Ngai, Member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, announced his successful re-election and stated that he will continue to promote the development of Web3 in the Legislative Council.
He said that there will be no major changes in Hong Kong’s stablecoin policy direction, which will advance steadily in accordance with established regulations, prioritizing local market development before expanding to the international arena. In the Real-World Assets (RWA) sector, the government has explored compliant pathways through regulatory sandboxes and encouraged the integration of physical industries with Web3 technologies.
Meanwhile, as Web3 enterprises continue to set up operations in Hong Kong, the demand for developers is rising rapidly. Going forward, he will assist the government and the industry in building a talent ecosystem to attract more developers and practitioners to develop their careers in Hong Kong.
