Against the backdrop of Czech National Bank officials attempting to determine whether Bitcoin and other digital assets can play a role in the diversified allocation of foreign exchange reserves, the bank has completed its first-ever cryptocurrency purchase operation.

According to a statement released by the Czech National Bank on Thursday, the scale of the cryptocurrencies purchased this time amounts to 1 million U.S. dollars. The asset composition is mainly Bitcoin, and also includes U.S. dollar stablecoins of unspecified specific types and tokenized U.S. dollar deposits on the blockchain. The statement pointed out that this part of the cryptocurrency assets will be stored separately from the central bank's official foreign exchange reserves, and this asset portfolio will serve as a 'test platform' to help the central bank accumulate practical experience in holding digital assets and test relevant operating procedures.
