The Ethereum Foundation announced that it will expand its investment in privacy technologies and establish a 'Privacy Cluster' coordinated by Igor Barinov. Composed of 47 researchers and engineers, the cluster focuses on the development and deployment of full-stack privacy technologies. This cluster integrates the achievements of the PSE team, which has been supported by the Foundation since 2018. The PSE team has launched over 50 open-source privacy projects such as Semaphore, MACI, zkEmail, and TLSNotary. Current key projects include: Private Reads/Writes and Private Proving (which enable low-cost private transactions and verification), zkID (focused on selective disclosure of identities) and privacy identity tools, IPTF (Institutional Privacy Task Force) catering to institutional needs, and Kohaku (used for building private wallets and SDKs), among others.
