According to a Bloomberg report, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government has appointed banks to prepare for a potential digital bond issuance. If advanced, this will be the third such issuance since 2023. A few days before the news was announced, Shenzhen Futian Investment Holdings and Shandong Hi-Speed Group had already issued similar blockchain-based bonds in Hong Kong, indicating a rising market demand for digital bonds.
