據有線新聞報道，香港財經事務及庫務局局長許正宇在接受採訪時表示，首階段隻會發出少量穩定幣牌照，至於能否發行人民幣穩定幣，他說法例沒有限製掛鉤幣種，但假如涉及其他地區貨幣，有可能需要與相關機構商討。他還透露，香港未來將推動金融資產代幣化，繼綠色債券後，下一步期望延伸至交易所買賣基金ETF，並認為金屬等商品交易亦可以研究以代幣支付。  

According to Cable News, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong, Christopher Hui, stated in an interview that only a small number of stablecoin licenses will be issued in the first phase. Regarding whether RMB stablecoins can be issued, he said that there is no restriction on the pegged currency in the legislation, but if other regional currencies are involved, discussions with relevant institutions may be required. He also revealed that Hong Kong will promote the tokenization of financial assets in the future. Following green bonds, the next step is to extend to exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and he believes that commodity transactions such as metals can also be studied for payment using tokens.
