On 26 October 2026, Hong Kong’s financial market achieved a landmark innovation. The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong authorised the world’s first batch of tokenised public funds for retail investors. The development breaks the time and space constraints of traditional asset management, enabling round-the-clock secondary market trading of compliant tokenised funds. It puts Hong Kong at the global forefront of digital asset regulation and the digital transformation of traditional asset management.
The two approved products are compliant tokenised money market funds managed by ChinaAMC (Hong Kong): ChinaAMC HKD Digital Money Market Fund and ChinaAMC USD Digital Money Market Fund. They are subject to strict oversight by the SFC and traded on licensed Virtual Asset Trading Platforms (VATPs). This is the first suite of compliant tokenised public funds globally open to retail investors for non-stop trading.
