Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested that cryptocurrency could be used to evade potential financial sanctions against Israel. The proposal was firmly refuted by the Bank of Israel.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Bank of Israel stated: “Cryptocurrencies cannot be used to evade sanctions imposed on Israel. The proper way for Israel’s economy to respond is to maintain economic ties with major trading partners, focus on sanction prevention and mitigate the economic impact of sanctions.”
