According to Bloomberg, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States is considering raising tariffs on South Korean goods from 15% to 25%—covering automobiles, lumber, pharmaceuticals and other sectors—because the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea has not yet legislatively ratified the trade agreement reached by the two countries last year. Recently, Trump has also issued tariff threats to multiple countries, including a plan to impose a 100% tariff on Canadian products if Canada strikes a trade deal with China, and a potential new round of tariffs on European goods. He also said that tariff measures will be imposed on countries that conduct commercial transactions with Iran. However, none of these tariff threats have been officially implemented so far.
