Tether announces it will discontinue support for the offshore Chinese yuan stablecoin CNH₮:

New issuance will cease immediately, and no new tokens will be minted.

Redemption support will be terminated one year from the announcement, with a separate reminder to be issued before the redemption deadline.

Tether stated that the decision is based on changing market conditions, low product demand, and insufficient ongoing usage by the community. The scale of CNH₮ usage cannot support ongoing operational costs.

Redemptions will continue to be processed normally in accordance with the terms until the deadline, and holders are advised to complete redemptions as soon as possible.
