According to Cointelegraph, Joachim Nagel, President of the Deutsche Bundesbank, has announced support for the introduction of retail central bank digital currency (CBDC) and euro‑anchored stablecoins.

Nagel revealed that EU officials are advancing related research and development, aiming to enhance the independence of Europe’s payment systems and reduce reliance on U.S. dollar‑denominated stablecoins.
