According to Reuters, France’s Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) said on Tuesday that nearly one-third of crypto companies operating in France without an EU license have not yet notified regulators whether they plan to apply for a license, and may have to cease operations before July. Among the approximately 90 unlicensed companies, 30% have submitted license applications, 40% have explicitly stated they will not apply, and the remaining 30% have not provided feedback on their plans. France’s crypto regulatory transition period will end on June 30. The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) requires unauthorized enterprises to formulate or implement an 'orderly exit' plan before the deadline. Previously, companies such as Coinbase, Circle, and Revolut have obtained the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license.
