The Sejm (lower house of the Polish Parliament) has passed the new 'Crypto-Asset Market Act' and referred the bill to the Senate for deliberation. The act imposes strict licensing requirements on Crypto-Asset Service Providers (CASPs) and classifies non-compliant behaviors as criminal offenses, with penalties including a maximum fine of 10 million Polish złoty (approximately 2.8 million U.S. dollars) and a maximum prison sentence of two years. Additionally, the act designates the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF, after its Polish acronym) as the primary regulatory authority.
