Pakistan has announced the establishment of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA). PVARA will operate as an independent institution, with main functions including licensing, regulating and reviewing virtual asset service providers, while ensuring their operations comply with international standards, including relevant guidelines of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
