In his written testimony at a congressional hearing, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said recent economic activity has shown robustness, allowing policymakers to continue monitoring inflation and employment data to determine whether and when to resume rate cuts. Powell emphasized that the Fed will ensure price shocks from tariff hikes do not evolve into 'sustained inflation issues.' He did not explicitly hint at a July rate cut.
