According to the Financial Times, the government of the Maldives has signed a joint venture agreement with MBS Global Investments, which is headquartered in Dubai. It plans to build a blockchain and digital asset financial center in Male with a total investment of $8.8 billion. The government hopes to use this project to drive the transformation of the economy from tourism and fishing industries.
